O n June 11, 1997, Survey Equipment Services Inc., purchased the business and assets of Data Transmission Systems (DTS) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Since 1991, DTS have been manufacturing High Frequency Telemetry Systems for the transmission of Differential GPS Corrections and other data.

T he LRD product range is in use world wide as an alternative to the more expensive Satellite delivered DGPS Correction Systems or in areas of the world where satellite delivered corrections are not available.

S ignal ranges for this product allows for long range Data Transmission and typical distances of 150 miles are achievable and therefore, an effective long range DGPS correction telemetry system has been achieved with the creation of the LRD series of equipment.

·         SES.LRD3 Active Antenna

DTS - Data Transmission Systems Inc., now owned by Survey Equipment Services Inc., perfected the use of surface wave propagation technology for long range DGPS data links. Developing the first long range data receiver that is application specific and frequency agile is why the LRD product range is considered the leader in this field.  The LRD-1 Data Receiver is specifically designed for the reception of digital data in the frequency range of 1.7 to 7.0 MHz, operating at a data rate of 300 bits per second.

The LRD-2 Modulator is a self contained FSK Modulator specifically designed to operate in conjunction with the LRD-1 data receiver. The LRD-2 provides the interface between the GPS reference receiver and the HF Transmitter.

The LRD-3 Active Antenna is designed to amplify desired signals at the operating frequency selected on the LRD-1.  The antenna derives its power from the LRD-1 via the antenna cable connections and is capable of operating within two operator selectable frequency bands.

The LRD Series of Equipment is also built to withstand the rigorous demands that are found in both onshore and offshore project environments.

This system offers a cost-effective solution to real-time, long range Differential GPS. It has been tested and proven by some of the most demanding operators in the world.

A detailed specification sheet for the LRD product range is available on request.
